Larry Ellis, DVM
For as long as he can remember, Dr. Larry Ellis has been fascinated with the bond between humans and animals. He knows how much pets can enrich our lives and feels a personal responsibility to return the favor — improving the lives of animals is his ultimate goal. Dr. Ellis has now been practicing veterinary medicine for over 35 years.
Dr. Ellis grew up in rural East Texas, where his family kept dogs and cats and raised cattle, hogs, and chickens. He attended Texas A&M University and volunteered at a local pet hospital while completing his studies. Upon earning his degree, he was accepted into graduate programs for both veterinary medicine and human physical therapy; needless to say, his love of animals won out and he chose the veterinary world! Dr. Ellis joined the Abilene Veterinary Clinic team in 1978 and purchased the practice three short years later.
